1. Symposium: June 29th – July 2nd. World-renowned experts, scientists and clinicians will provide didactic presentations on the concepts, details, applications, limitations of lentiviral vectors. Current and future applications in genetic diseases, infectious pathologies or cancer will be presented. Ethics and regulatory issues will be discussed.  Short presentations selected from submitted abstracts will be presented during several sessions in this symposium.

2. Practical hands-on laboratory work: July 2nd – July 5th. About 30 participants will be selected to attend a practical training session, held over 4 days so as to limit the time away from work. The practical training will be offered free of additional charge, once you have registered for the symposium. The practical course is designed for PhD students, post-docs and investigators working, or planning to work, in gene therapy and who are new to the field of lentiviral vectors.  We require that applicants present a poster about their work in order to foster group interactions and discussions (Standard Poster Dimensions).  Applicants will submit two documents in their registration form: a motivation letter (including CV, publications, work summary and career plan synopsis) and an abstract for the poster that will be displayed (it might be also selected for an oral short pesentation).         Please note that posters should not necessarily describe research data, since their primary objective is to increase the internal communication between the participants, namely the interaction between young and senior researchers. Therefore, undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to describe their project by submitting an abstract and presenting a poster!

A prize will be awarded to the two best communications (selected oral and poster).

The evaluation of applications will be made by the organizing and scientific committees. Selection will be made on motivation, scientific excellence(1), geographical and gender equality criteria.  Non-selected applicants will remain automatically registered for the symposium.
(1) The evaluators will use an and give scores following the above criteria. Please download the document and follow the guidelines to prepare your application
